Cinco de Mayo is a day of celebration of Mexican heritage. It evokes pride over a great victory early in the nation’s history. Today, this holiday is celebrated throughout North America. It is a happy time to savor great food and drink and good company. This week, we’re joining in the celebration.

The upcoming Easter holiday is a time of rebirth and renewal where Canadians spend with family; many of us have enjoyed the more fun traditions we now associate with this time of year; egg-decorating, eating chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs and – maybe the most popular part for the kids – the famous Easter Egg hunt, which often includes a special “golden egg”.

What is Does Taste BC Support?
Taste BC is a great local event to benefit one of British Columbia’s most vital medical institutions, which treats about 700 sick and injured children every day. Taste BC has raised $186,336 for BC Children’s Hospital’s Oak Tree Clinic so far. On its busiest day, BC Children’s Hospital treats almost 1,100 individual children.
This is a great cause and as a local Vancouver company, we’re proud to take part. We’re looking forward to this special evening featuring some of the province’s most well known food and beverage companies, raising funds for an important facility.

Who will be the next Mayor of Trees Organic? Actually, since there are four locations, including our Granville café, Yaletown, Gastown and Richmond, you’ve got four chances to rule.
For those who may not know, Foursquare is a popular smart phone application that gives you and your friends new ways to explore your city. You can earn points and unlock badges for discovering new things. Foursquare is a neat way to create a chance to connect with your nearby friends by letting them know where you’re hanging out.

Our coffee beans and herbal teas aren’t the only thing with international flavor you can find at our cafes. We love that Trees Organic’s downtown locations gets to play host to friendly and hardworking local students from UBC, SFU and BCIT, as well as far off-places like Korea, Japan and Mexico.
It’s hard not to notice these diligent crowd cramming for exams, practicing their English conversation skills or doing their homework online with our free WiFi while sipping a steamy latte or green tea. Trees Organic cafes are also a popular place for ESL teachers to bring their students for a taste of Canadian culture (and a welcome break from the classroom, particularly on a hot summer day).
Now we want to give a something back to our international customers… and any of their friends from class they’d like to invite along.

- Trees Organic’s owner also offers free lectures for students to learn more about coffee as well as business management. We’re very proud to be known for serving up Vancouver’s best cheesecake and our summer recipe is our tastiest flavor yet: Mango Splash!
Chunks of fresh mango nestled in our traditional New York base, swirled with mango puree make a fluffy, smooth summer treat. You can even throw it in the freezer for a cheesecake/ice-cream- inspired delight. This cheesecake already has a major fan following!
