The weather is finally getting nice and if you’re like me that means it’s the beginning of the much dreaded bathing suit season! I’d attempted to start yet another diet in anticipation of an upcoming pool party when I was faced with a major dilemma. Trees brought back its mango cheesecake for the summer and as a PR consultant for the cafe, I needed to try it if I was going to start promoting it.

As a young girl I got so excited about Easter. I loved the anticipation of spring, the Easter Bunny's arrival and the marizpan treats my Oma would bring. 

Growing up with a part German heritage, it just wouldn't be Easter without marizpan for me. The sugary almond flavoured confection that is often shaped into Easter eggs and Easter bunnies is also incredibly delicious in cakes and covered with chocolate.

On Monday, March 16 Trees' baker Andres Salas showed off his killer baking skills and adorable personality on City TV's Lunch TV. Andres was a hit but the real star was the Irish Cream Cheesecake, made especially for St. Patrick's Day. Here's the secret (or not so secret) recipe for you to try at home! YUM!

It’s crisp on this early morning in Vancouver, and the Canada Line sky train crew has already been hard at work for hours just steps outside the doors of the Granville street cafe. I’m cold, my head is pounding and all I need is my morning fix to get this day off to a better start.
